Depending on how you use Vidyakul, we may collect:

• Account information: name, email address, mobile number and class or learning category.
• Authentication information: password hashes, email-verification status, OTP records and password-reset records.
• Learning information: enrolled batches, lecture progress, saved video position, completed lectures, test attempts, homework submissions, marks, feedback and doubts/comments.
• Referral information: referral codes, referrer relationships and referral reward status.
• Transaction information: selected batch, payment/order identifiers, amount, payment status and enrollment information.
• Technical information: session identifiers, security logs and information necessary to keep the website secure and functioning.

2. How we use information

• Create and manage your student account.
• Verify your email address and help you recover your account.
• Provide access to purchased or assigned batches and learning content.
• Save learning progress and provide Continue Watching and related dashboard features.
• Process course purchases and maintain enrollment/payment records.
• Manage homework, tests, doubts, live-class comments and academic feedback.
• Operate the referral programme where applicable.
• Detect abuse, fraud, unauthorized access and other security issues.
• Improve the reliability and functionality of the service.

3. Payments

Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers such as Razorpay. Vidyakul does not need to store your full card, UPI or banking credentials to provide course access. Payment providers may process payment information under their own privacy policies and terms.

4. Email and OTP

We may send account-verification, password-reset and service-related emails to the address associated with your account. Verification and reset OTPs are time-limited and are not intended to be used as passwords.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared with service providers only where reasonably necessary to operate the platform, such as payment, hosting, email or infrastructure providers, or where required by law or to protect the security and rights of users and the service.

6. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the platform, including password hashing, session controls, access restrictions and protected database operations. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so you should also use a unique password and keep your login credentials confidential.
